Well it seems that MMA fight fans are going to have to wait a long time before they see the bout between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. Not that this one was ever on the books; Brock’s next match is a fight with Frank Mir, the one person to make Lesnar look incompetent during his brief UFC run. Considering the fact that the both men have the sort of builds that would qualify them as medium sized planets and have both held championships in Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Entertainment, there was considerable interest in seeing this pair of sports entertainment stars go head to head in real combat. Bobby Lashley has made that possibility less likely as he has returned to the world of fake fighting.
During the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) pay per view on April 19th, Lashley appeared in a video that signaled his return to the wrestling ring. TNA is a rival company to the WWE, and has slowly started rising in the ratings. In response, Vince has created a show that airs directly opposite TNA’s Thursday night broadcast on Spike TV. As a way to defend against this threat, it would appear that TNA management has thrown the bank at Lashley, and brought him into the fold.
